One King West Hotel and Residence, more commonly known as 1 King West, is a condominium hotel located in the financial district of Toronto. It was built at the Southwest corner of Yonge and King, which at the time was considered the anchor of Toronto’s economic, cultural, and social activity. It was originally designed as the Dominion Bank Building in 1914, with the Grand Banking Hall being a hallmark of renaissance architecture within North America. The development of the building into a hotel was completed in 2006 with the addition of a 51-story condominium tower atop, nicknamed “The Sliver” for its slender height-to-width ratio.

1 King West needed a structure cabling system that could support all aspects of its location. This system ranged from integrating its numerous security cameras into a manageable system to ensuring all 500 of their suites have high-speed network connectivity for all of its 51 floors. It was a complex and challenging project due to the historic nature of the building; thus careful consideration was made to install cabling while retaining the integrity of its Beaux-Arts design.
